Let’s make sure everyone can benefit from clean air.
Chances are you know someone who has faced the challenges of asthma, COPD, lung cancer or air pollution. By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Lung Association provide community-based education programs, fight for cleaner air standards, and fund life-saving research.
This year I turn 40 and to kick-off my launch into a new decade, I am taking on a challenge for a cause I believe strongly in supporting: clean air and healthy lungs. In 2016 environmental researchers discovered that my local neighborhood and home were in a direct hot spot of toxic air emission and heavy metal pollutants due to a nearby manufacturing company and poor state regulatory policies. As a result, I joined the East Portland Air Coalition whose mission is to change Oregon's laws and protect communities. I even helped design and host a "Visual Thinking School" public event that involved creative ways to inform and activate diverse community groups on the issue, ranging from politicians to preschoolers, non-English speakers to concerned parents.
So when I saw that the American Lung Association has a fundraiser called Climb for Clean Air that involves summitting Mt. Hood (my favorite Oregon peak!), it seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine a cause I believe in with my passion for the outdoors.
With your help, we will fight against lung disease and for lung health. We will be making a positive difference for all of the parents who have a child with asthma, the people who struggle daily with COPD, and the grandparents, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children and friends who get diagnosed with lung cancer.
Every donation makes an impact. Please help support my effort to save lives and donate now.
Together we can fight for clean air!
