I am climbing beautiful Mount Hood in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Clean Air.
Chances are you know someone who has faced the challenges of asthma, COPD, lung cancer or air pollution...and maybe you don't even realize it! Surprisingly, I did not weave the common thread of so many incidents in my own family to relate to lung health until just recently. My grandfather died of emphysema, my grandmother ultimately from pneumonia (after years of smoking and second hand smoke inhalation), my mother-in-law from lung cancer and meanwhile my own mother deals with a low grade chronic lung condition thanks to the second hand smoke she endured for her entire childhood and young adult life. This really bums me out.
I am immesurably thankful about the strides already made toward improving air quality. The American Lung Association has done so much work toward creating tobacco free zones, cessation programs, education and labeling, early scanning for lung disease, and clean air research and analysis. Their work is aimed to improve future generations' lung health, while also supporting those already afflicted with disease.
By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Lung Association provide community based education programs, fight for cleaner air standards and fund life-saving research. With your help, we will fight against lung disease and for lung health. We will be making a positive difference for all of the parents who have a child with asthma, the people who struggle daily with COPD and the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children and friends who get diagnosed with lung cancer.
I have never done anything like this and have always been so proud of my friends who take on these challenges. I take confidence from their brave efforts in reaching out to make a small ask from you. Please only give what is safe and comfortable, and thank you for even considering.
Every donation I receive helps make a bigger impact. Please help support my effortst to save lives, donate now.
I am teaming up with my good friend Annie to double down a great cause with a great time :)
