Hello Family, Friends, and all who found their way to my fundraising page!
I appreciate you taking the time to check out my American Lung Association - Climb for Clean Air fundraiser. This is my third time participating in this program (Mt. Hood-2019, Mt. Rainier-2021, and Mt. Shuksan-2023) and I am so glad to be back! I'm joining the Climb for Clean Air program again to challenge myself and to support people with lung disease who have to fight for every breath. The money raised, over 5 million dollars since this program's inception, goes towards funding so many of the American Lung Association's great advocacy programs and also supports important research into lung diseases and treatments. This year I have the goal and privilege of raising $4,750 for the American Lung Association. Through groundbreaking research, advocacy and critical education, the money we raise will provide lifesaving treatments and dramatically improve the quality of life for more than 36 million Americans diagnosed with lung disease.
I'm climbing for a healthier future, for vital COVID-19 research and for clean air. In fact, I work for an environmental company that does air emissions testing, among other environmental services, and I love my job! Also, who doesn't love clean air?! I'm also climbing to challenge myself and to see what my body is capable of after several years of struggling with sacroiliac joint and hip labrum injuries. I have spent so much time in physical therapy, and missed out on so much hiking and mountain fun and I'm ready to get back to it. I will be ramping up my training slowly and steadily to try and avoid irritating old injuries. I believe I can do it and am going into this with lots of positivity!
Your tax-deductible donation funds lung disease medical research, lung health education and advocacy for clean air and healthy lungs. The American Lung Association is a charity built on trust and transparency, and is a proud holder of the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Guide Seal, a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, a Gold Star rating from GuideStar and membership in the National Health Council.
During my prior two years of participating in this program, friends, family, and supporters helped me to raise close to $9,000 for the American Lung Association. Can you help me get to $4,750 this year? Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and below are some breakdowns of how I can get there! While the Mt. Shuksan climb program is August 1-4, the fundraising deadline is May 1st.
48 donations of $100, 95 donations of $50, 138 donations of $35 will get me to the goal of $4,750. Every bit adds up and I'd be so appreciative of any and all support! Feel free to follow along with my training and climb progress via my Facebook or Instagram, or here on this page, where I will be sure to post updates. Thanks for all your support!

First hike of the year and towards getting in uphill climbing shape
Made it outdoors today for a little trail time. It truly feels like I'm starting at scratch, compared to hikes of the past, but that's okay. It felt so lovely to be out in the cold, fresh air with snow falling. Drove up through the rain into some light snow and hiked from Frog Lake Snopark to Lower Twin Lake. The trail was all packed snow so didn't have a need to put on the snowshoes. Had planned to do the loop or at least to the upper lake and back but didn't want to push it too much as my hip flexor was a little irritated at times. I'll get there. 4.5 miles, 700' elevation gain, packed snow hike. So many thanks to everyone who has donated to my ALA fundraiser so far!
