Let’s make sure everyone can benefit from healthy lungs.
Chances are you know someone who has faced the challenges of asthma, COPD, lung cancer or air pollution. My father Douglas Hope Porch beat lung cancer but died from COPD. My cousin Jan Wahlgren never smoked a cigarette in her life and died from lung cancer. Iraq and Afghanistan veterans continue to face lung issues due to the burn pits they were exposed to. My lungs aren't the best these days. I just pray that I won't fall victim too.
My time in the Pacific Northwest will come to an end soon but one thing I will remember from this time is Mt Rainier. Everyday I drive past Mt Rainier to work. Everyday I marvel at its size. As I embark on motherhood, Army retirement and moving back to the Midwest, I find that it is only fitting that I tackle summiting Mt Rainier. I will do it to support the American Lung Association. "I ain't as good as I once was" when we talk about physical fitness but who says that I can't be great again? Join me in my journey to the climb. Sing Miley Cyrus in your car with the volume all the way up... I will make it to the summit with your support, mentally, emotionally and financially.
By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Lung Association provide community based education programs, fight for cleaner air standards and fund life-saving research. With your help, we will fight against lung disease and for lung health. We will be making a positive difference for all of the parents who have a child with asthma, the people who struggle daily with COPD and the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children and friends who get diagnosed with lung cancer.
Every donation I receive helps make a bigger impact. Please help support my efforts to save lives, donate now.
Together we can fight lung disease successfully! We need to kick lung disease's booty! Let's get to it! Woohooo!!!
Peace and Love,
