Progress is being made, but we aren't done yet!
I have now been working for the American Lung Association for 4 years, and what I've come to realize is that lung disease just doesn't care. It doesn't care if you are rich or poor. What race or gender you are. If you are a great person or someone who is not so nice. Lung disease comes after anyone.
But the more positive and inspiring thing that I know to be true is that we are fighting back and positive changes are happening! More research for new treatments. Better understanding of how to catch these diseases earlier. Better support for those who are battling and their loved ones. And those incredible people who have lung disease and decide..Not today! I'm going to climb that damn mountain, ride my bike 100 miles or climb those 100 flights of stairs! I'm not going to hold back on the life I want because of this disease.
Please join me in supporting the American Lung Association and my climb of Mt. Adams. Because if you can't breath, nothing else matters.
