In August of 2021 I had a taste of how it feels to live with lung disease. After battling COVID for a week it turned into COVID Pneumonia and I was quickly moved from regular oxygen to high flow Oxygen in the respiratory center of the hospital. As I started healing I watched my mom as she continued her battle. I sat there thinking about all the activities that I hoped to do again. One of the things I wanted to do was climb Mt St Helens and summit. (My last attempt we did not summit.)
When I saw the opportunity with Climb for Clean Air, I knew this was the chance to climb Mt St Helens and to climb for a good cause. I've lost loved ones to lung cancer, COVID, and have loved ones living with lung disease.
I'm doing the Climb for Clean Air to challenge myself and to support people with lung disease who have to fight for every breath.
I'm climbing for a healthier future, for vital research and for clean air.
Through groundbreaking research, advocacy and critical education, the money we raise will provide lifesaving treatments and dramatically improve the quality of life for more than 36 million Americans diagnosed with lung disease.
