Hi Friends,
I'm teaming up with the American Lung Association to embrak on an exciting journey to summit Mt. Rainier. As part of this adventure, I'm aiming to riase $6,000 for the American Lung Association, an organization committed to promoting lung health and clean air.
I've decided to make this climb for a few reasons:
- I've lived in Seattle for 6 years and I only made it to Mt. Rainier National Park for the first time last summer. I was blown away by the beauty and made it a goal to one day be able to say that I climbed to the top.
- COVID has derailed training for athletic events for me a couple times. Before then, I don't think I realized just how debilitating and frustrating lung diseases can be, and at the end of the day I had a pretty mild case. If some of this fundraising is able to help the ALA progress in COVID-19 research, I'll count that as a win.
- I want to push the boundaries of my comfort zone. Mountaineering has always been something that's appealed to me in a "that would be cool" kind of way, but I never seriously considered it. When this opportunity came up, I decided now was as good of a time as any to try something new.
- (I was pressured into doing it after having a couple beers at a brewery.)
Every dollar counts! I appreciate each and every one of you for contributing to this great cause and joining me in this journey.
