Many of you know how closely Lung Cancer has affected my family. Last November, my mother was suddenly and shockingly diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. We almost lost her twice in December. It was the scariest, saddest time my family has had to date. Luckily, through research made possible from donations by people like YOU, it was discovered that my mom has an incredibly rare genetic mutated form of lung cancer. THANK GOD! Finding out that she is ALK+ saved her life. We were able to get her the specialized “miracle pills” called Alectinib and miraculously she has made almost a full recovery. She will always have lung cancer and will have to take the Alectinib as long as it continues to be working for her. But if that day comes that the Alectinib stops working, we pray that scientists will have discovered another, even better form of treatment for her. That’s what this walk and fundraiser is about; to gather funds to continue supporting the work done to discover cures and treatments!
I'm really looking forward to this event and I greatly appreciate your support. Our collective efforts will help raise awareness and funds to protect lung health.
Your donation and participation, will help support the American Lung Association's research innovation, which leads to early detection for all and better treatments that give everyone a fighting chance.
To support my efforts, and to help save lives like my mother’s, please donate now. Be a part of the FORCE to defeat lung cancer and lung disease one step at a time.
My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Help us today as we are “wALKing Positive” for Julie!
