I joined LUNG FORCE to support those in need, to raise awareness about lung disease, and to raise funds for research, outreach and early detection initiatives. My son, Patrick, was first admitted to the PICU @ 18mo old after noticing his cold was not like any other kid's cold I've ever seen. HIs respiratory rate was 70+ breaths per min., he used every muscle he had to breath; when I noticed his lips had a blueish tint, we called 911 (1st time for everything). At the Emergency Department, he was rushed back by a nurse and his O2 Saturations were 78-80 on room air. He was immediately transferred to our nearest Medical Center's PICU where he started HI Flow O2 and a Precedex drip, IV Steroids, and nebulizers. -- This was the 1st of 3 visits over the next 9 months.
He is since doing much better and we have managed to stay out of the hospital for 2.5 years!
Please consider donating to my team as I walk with Kindred Hospital at this year's Lung Force Walk.
We greatly appreciate your support!
Thank you.
