The American Lung Association is working to eliminate lung cancer and other lung diseases such as COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, and pneumonia. The Lung Association supports research, treatment, smoking cessation, education programs, and clean air initiatives with a goal of improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
In June of 2013 my father died from lung cancer. Although he smoked as a teenager and young man, he had not smoked for over forty years prior to his diagnosis. Lung Cancer has a certain negative stigmatism. We tend to think of lung cancer as the result of a life of bad choices. But no one deserves lung cancer. Lung Cancer is the number 1 cancer related cause of death in both men and women in the US. In fact, each year more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined. Each year over 200,000 people in the US are diagnosed with lung cancer.
That's why I’m raising support for the Lung Association through the LUNG FORCE Run/Walk. And I need your help and support. With your gift to the American Lung Association you will be supporting research innovation that will lead to earlier detection and better treatments for all lung diseases.
Your donation and participation will help make a difference in the lives that desperately need it.
To support my efforts, and to help save lives today, please donate now.
We will stand together for lung health and against lung cancer!
