Thank you for visiting my page. All of my efforts here, with this amazing organization are to honor my Daddy, Gerald "Jerry" Foster, and to continue his legacy which was one of love, grace, and generosity. If you ever had the pleasure of knowing him, please know that it was because of this event that we were led to the right doctor, and the right diagnosis. Unfortunately, it came too late, with too much damage to his lungs that he was unable to overcome. However, he was given relief and most importantly, HOPE, before he succumbed to his illness. With that in mind, I was honored to be asked to be the chairperson of the walk this year and join the American Lung Association's Louisiana Board. Daddy said that his family and friends were his greatest blessings and it is in that spirit I named our team "Jerry's Blessings". One of the most important lessons Daddy taught me was how to be a good steward of God's grace; he taught me this by being a wonderful example of a good and faithful servant. Though Daddy may be gone, I will continue my efforts to make a difference in the lives of people impacted by lung disease.
I'm really looking forward to this event and I greatly appreciate your support. Your support can simply be signing up as walker if you are able to make it or even a virtual walker; both which are free to register for, and as always simply sending your prayers. Monetary donations would also be appreciated. 88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to support research and program initiatives. For example, on April 9, the ALA launched the COVID-19 Action Initiative, a comprehensive $25M initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. The COVID-19 Action Initiative will fund respiratory research, enhance key public health measures through education and advocacy, and establish an advanced network of public and private entities to develop new vaccines, detection tests and treatment therapies, to stop future respiratory virus pandemics. Our collective efforts will help raise awareness and funds to protect lung health.
Your donation and participation, will help support the American Lung Association's research innovation, which leads to early detection for all and better treatments that give everyone a fighting chance.
To support my efforts, to help save lives, and to help me continue Daddy's legacy please donate now.
Be a part of the FORCE to defeat lung cancer and lung disease one step at a time.
