White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care

The White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care, home to the Dickstein Center and your circle of care during the often overwhelming and emotional time following a cancer diagnosis.

Initially accredited in 1993, we are approved by The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Community Comprehensive Cancer Program.

As the leading regional cancer facility, the WPH Cancer Program provides patients with the best care available in an easily accessible setting. Your circle of care is complete cancer care—the only kind of care you will find at White Plains Hospital Center for Cancer Care.

Because health and well-being are essential for both cancer patients and families, we strive to meet your physical and psychosocial needs by combining state-of-the-art diagnostic treatment technologies, surgical techniques, and professional expertise with a compassionate, respectful, and personal approach to patient care.

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women and is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, there are nearly 234,580 new cases of lung cancer diagnosed this year in the U.S.

Smoking (and using other tobacco products) is the leading risk factor in lung cancer, with at least 80% of lung cancer deaths thought to be caused by smoking. Secondhand smoke can increase your risk of developing lung cancer by about 30%. Exposure to asbestos is a known risk factor for all lung cancers and mesothelioma.

We offer low dose chest CT which has been shown to be effective to screen for lung cancer in high-risk patients.  We also have specialists in the treatment of Lung cancer and other pulmonary diseases. Our team consists of thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, and radiologists with expertise in lung cancer and nodules. Treatment for patients may vary depending on the individuals pulmonary disease or type and stage of lung or thoracic cancer.

We would greatly appreciate your support, either by joining our team or offering your support.  Your donation turns small steps into bold strides toward a world free of lung cancer and lung disease.

Thank you.
