I walk in memory of my loving wife of 23 years, Karen, who lost her battle to Stage 4 Lung Cancer on March 20, 2019. Karen was 53 years young and passed away 11 days after diagnosis. Three months later, I participated in my first Lung Force walk in Karen’s memory to advocate for early screenings and support ALA’s mission. As a supporter and member of the Providence Lung Force walk committee and vice chair of the Rhode Island Leadership Board, I continue to promote lung disease awareness and advocate for early screenings in memory of others who left us far too soon and those fighting to breath.
Do you know:
- Lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death in the US, accounting for about 1 in 5 of all cancer deaths. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined.
- An estimated 234,580 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer in 2024 in the US.
- Lung Cancer kills approximately 343 people every day.

Please join me on Saturday, June 22, to walk and support the American Lung Association in memory of Karen.
Thank you for your continued support!
