Hi - My name is Katie. Welcome to my page! The American Lung Association means a lot to myself, my two sisters, Kelsey and Patricia, and my Dad, Tommy. We watched my Mom, Patricia, fight an awful battle with this horrible disease. She was diagnosed in September 2017 and lost her battle on October 18, 2017. Lung cancer not only only took my Mom, but turned our lives upside down. We now we believe that it is our turn to fight.
My Mom loved life. She loved her family, animals, music, and dancing. She had the most contagious laugh. One of those laughs where a stranger could be walking by, have no clue what was being said, and still laugh along with her. She would light up any room with her positive energy and beauty. This is why we believe it is so important to keep her memory alive. We have been doing this by running an annual golf outing in her name, through my Dad's business - Mulligan's Fireside Pub. We started this around a year after her passing and will try to keep it going for as long as possible to honor her. This outing is what got me involved with the American Lung Association. We donated all proceeds to the organization, and held a raffle afterwards giving out prizes to everyone who supported the outing. We are blessed to have so many family, friends and businesses stand by our side and donate to this outing each year. I feel my Mom's presence more on this day - we know she's smiling from above at how loved she was, and always will be.
Cancer does not discriminate. Hold your loved ones close.
Cancer is powerless to cripple love, to shatter hope, to corrode faith. Cancer is powerless to shut out memories, to invade the soul, and to quench the spirit. Support those who continue to fight, and who have survived. Raise awareness, find a cure, and carry on the fight. Love you always Mom.
