"Jonny, why is it so hard to die?" That's what my father asked me shortly before he passed away following a heroic battle with emphysema that lasted well over a decade. I walk in his memory and invite you to join me in our quest to move one step closer to realizing the American Lung Association's vision of a world free of lung disease.
I also walk in memory of Ron Tindiglia, my dear friend and esteemed news colleague at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia and WABC-TV in New York. Among the most creative and universally respected television news executives in the country, Ron died of lung cancer at the age of 51.
With your participation and support, this year's LUNG FORCE Walk NYC on Saturday, May 13, will make a dramatic difference in the lives of patients fighting lung cancer and other devastating lung diseases including emphysema, asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. Please help us reach our team fundraising goal of $25,000 by joining and/or supporting Team Board Walkers. The urgency of this year's campaign is underscored by the American Lung Association's $25M COVID-19 Action Initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics.
WE ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. AND ONLY A FORCE OF MANY CAN SAVE LIVES BY PREVENTING LUNG DISEASE AND IMPROVING LUNG HEALTH THROUGH GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH, GAME CHANGING ADVOCACY AND CRITICAL EDUCATION.
WHEN YOU CAN’T BREATHE, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.
THANK YOU!
