Hi all! I've been lucky to serve on the board of the American Lung Association here in NYC, and they're hosting their Lung Force Walk on the morning of Saturday May 16. I'm hoping to raise funds for this event to support more research and assistance for people in need. If you'd like to donate, I'd be incredibly grateful!
And if you're able to join on 5/16, PLEASE SIGN UP TO WALK WITH ME!!! I'd love to share the day with you! Our team's name is Miles of Style, so please feel free to dress up in your flashiest, craziest, or fanciest outfit -- the crazier the better!
Why am I fundraising for the Walk?
The work that the American Lung Association does is incredibly important to me. We've lost many members of my family to lung cancer and lung disease, and several other friends and family suffer from asthma, COPD, or related lung illnesses. Not only does the ALA support valuable research into finding cures for lung disease, they also provide educational resources for individuals and institutions and help to shape government policy around healthcare, smoking/vaping restrictions, clean air efforts and pollution legislation, and public health infrastructure. And, perhaps most importantly, the ALA provides financial resources to people and families in need who are battling lung disease so that they can take their minds off of some of the costs of care and devote their attention to the emotional and physical support of their loved ones. So please donate! Your contribution can save lives :)
