Hi Friends,
On October 16th, 2019 my 36 year old son, Andrew, lost his battle against lung cancer. His battle was courageous but short. He was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer in May 2018.
My amazing son fought hard for 17 months. He endured such horrible side effects from the multiple rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation treatment. He also suffered a tremendous amount of pain as the cancer continued to spread and grow. Somehow, through all of his pain, he continued to remain positive and uplifting to those around him.
The things I want Andrew to be remembered for is his love and loyalty for his family, his love for music, his passion for reading and his endless desire to expand his vocabulary. He was always a leader and never a follower. His courage, his fearlessness, his kindness, his uniqueness and his acceptance of everyone else's uniqueness.
I miss him every second of every day and I am filled with such an unimaginable grief which passage of time has not changed.
I am committed to honoring Andrew's courageous battle through my fight against lung cancer. There continues to be many new advances in the treatment for lung cancer, and Andrew had received many of them, but we need a cure!! Perhaps more importantly, we need early detection! Screening for individuals at high risk can dramatically improve lung cancer survival.
I invite you to walk with me and my family on June 15th. If you can’t walk, please consider donating. When you join the American Lung Association and LUNG FORCE, you support research innovation that will lead to early detection and better treatments that give everyone a fighting chance.
Your donation and participation will help make a difference in the lives that desperately need it.
To support my efforts, and to help save lives today, please donate now.
Please stand with me for lung health and against lung cancer!!
Thank you and God Bless,
Addy Clarke
