I walk another year for my mom and my girls' and nephew's Nani!
My mom is the strongest woman I know, the one I look up to and the one I strive to be most like. She holds many roles and carries them out seamlessly while putting all others first. She is a loving daughter and sister, devoted wife, phenomenal mother, wonderful friend, inspirational teacher and mentor, and enamored Nani. All it took was noticing a change in timbre while brushing her hair; who knew that the large mass in her skull would return as metastatic lung cancer in this never-smoked-in-her-life music teacher. She fights the fight and stays strong, not just for all of us, but for herself. She defines standing tall in the face of adversity.
I am proud and honored (as well as lucky!) to call her "Mom". My girls love her and learn from their Nani every day; my girls' cousin-to-be is just as fortunate to have her in his life. Every step she takes, every memory made, plays a very important part in helping them find their path.
Take that, lung cancer! You won't keep this Pratt/Roberts/Prince family down!
