I am walking in memory of our mother Pat ( Patricia )and My very close friend Rose who is a survivor & everyone who is struck with lung disease. Sick lungs dont show.
We lost our mom Aug 2010, Here today & gone tmorrow, my mother quit smoking at 56 yrs old, right on the spot when diagnosed with COPD, when I asked the Drs how she can have lung cancer when she quit smoking 14 yrs prior he said, imagine if she didn't quit, you would've lost her along time ago. 6 weeks after diagnoses she passed away.
We watched her fade away day by day and I myself have copd ( now stable ) when I say stable I only say that because I had to have a life saving lung transplant in 2012. I received the gift of life 1 lung and I am a survivor & thank my donor every single day! I m 10 years post transplant ,In chronic rejection and still fighting the good fight :) Life is good , see the glass half full and together we can make a difference .
I believe in spreading awareness, that's how we learn and I believe in research to get better lung cancer treatment.copd treatment so Im proud to introduce my mothers team as Team Pat and hope many people like my friend Rose are luckier then my mom.
Breathe easy & have a good day.
We are a force to be reckoned with. Only A Force of Many Can Stand Up To:
* the frightening rise of lung cancer in women
* the deadly disease that is COPD
* the daily challenges that asthma sufferers face
* pollution that threatens our lungs and our lives
