Friends! Family! Strangers who mis-clicked and ended up here (stay awhile)! I will once again be participating in the American Lung Association's LUNGFORCE walk this year. I've served on ALA Northeast Leadership Boards for over a decade and devote a significant amount of my non-work time to this important cause.
Did you know that lung cancer is the NUMBER ONE cancer killer of men and women in the U.S.? It does not often occur to people (myself included, before becoming involved with ALA) as being that widespread. Additionally, the stigma that "only former smokers" suffer from lung disease is incorrect but persistent. In fact, genetics, air pollution, and second-hand smoke are significant risk factors.
I would so appreciate your support to raise awareness and research funds. And, if you'll be in Boston on June 18, I invite you to join us for the LUNGFORCE Walk and what will undoubtedly be a wonderful morning at the Franklin Park Zoo.
Finally shout-out to Billy Heiple for many years smoke-free! Love you Dad, and all!!
