I'm so excited and honored to walk for the ninth year in memory of my beloved and beautiful Auntie Jen. Over the last eight years, Jennie's Jewels raised over $7,000 for lung cancer health and awareness!
Let me tell you a little bit about her. My Aunt Jennie was the epitome of a lady who carried herself with poise and elegance. She possessed a quiet demeanor who just spoke when needed, not much time was given to idle chatter but always was there to listen. She was loved and respected by all she met especially myself...I adored her. She wasn't only my Aunt but my best friend and like an older sister to me. She was my late Dad Michael's younger sister who he adored as well. From the first day my Dad passed away suddenly in 2008, she was always there for me and truly loved me as I did her. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery to remove the cancer from her left lung in May 2014. She endured two separate rounds of chemotherapy over two 12 week periods and many radiation treatments.
She fought a difficult and valiant battle with this insidious disease for 20 months until she was taken from us sadly on January 11, 2016. I want to keep her memory alive and honor her, and all that are fighting, surviving and have lost their battles with lung cancer. This year, I know we can have an even bigger impact and raise $1,000 in honor of my Aunt Jen.
Together with your help we will walk to raise awareness and funds to defeat lung cancer and ( now Covid which is a virus that attacks the lungs and causes difficulty breathing) and raise our voices for lung health.
That's why I have decided to participate in the LUNG FORCE Walk. When you join the American Lung Association and LUNG FORCE in the fight against lung cancer and for lung health, you join us in our mission to improve lives--and save lives.
Your donation and participation will help make a difference in the lives that desperately need it. To support my efforts, and to help save lives today, please donate now.
Together, we are a FORCE to be reckoned with!
