LUNG FORCE Walk - Cleveland

My grandpa and I on my wedding day in 2016
My grandpa and I on my wedding day in 2016

Williams Warriors

I am participating in the LUNG FORCE walk in honor of my grandfather, Willam 'Bill' Pfeiffer, who was more of a father to me. He raised me with my grandmother until she passed in 2000 when I was 9. After she passed he continued raising me. He didn't have to, he had already raised his 5 kids plus 2 step kids. I am so grateful for everything he did for me growing up. I learned so much from him. He was 74 when he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer last year. Before he got sick you couldn't tell he was in his 70s. He got diagnosed in May, I believe, and we lost him in November 30th. He was the bravest and greatest man I ever knew. I am so glad he got to walk me down the aisle at my wedding and that he was there after the birth of my daughter. He absolutely adored my daughter and I'm so glad they got almost 2 years together before he passed. I will keep his memory alive every day and make sure my daughter always knows who he is. One day I hope a cure is found. This is why I walk.
