Thank you for visiting my page. I've signed up for the LUNG FORCE Walk to make a difference in the lives of people impacted by lung disease. I'm really looking forward to this event and I greatly appreciate your support. Our collective efforts will help raise awareness and funds to protect lung health.

I am participating in the LUNG FORCE walk in honor of my grandfather, Willam 'Bill' Pfeiffer, who was more of a father to me. He raised me with my grandmother until she passed in 2000 when I was 9. After she passed he continued raising me. He didn't have to, he had already raised his 5 kids plus 2 step kids. I am so grateful for everything he did for me growing up. I learned so much from him. He was a retired LTV Steel Mill worker. He worked there for 37 years. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but was a die hard Cleveland Sports fan! He loved going to the horse race track, whether it was at thistledown or northfield park. He also liked going to the casinos. We would go out to breakfast a lot at a few of our local diners. He loved going to breakfast. He became a regular at one by us. He liked to play free cell on the computer, that's all he did besides check his horse races to see if he won. We would watch NCIS and Criminal Minds together every week when they were on. He loved all 5 of his kids and ALL of his grandkids (seriously there's like 20-something of us!), and his great grandkids. 

He was 74 when he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer last year. Before he got sick you couldn't tell he was in his 70s. He got diagnosed in May, I believe, and we lost him in November 30th. He was the bravest and greatest man I ever knew. I am so glad he got to walk me down the aisle at my wedding and that he was there after the birth of my daughter. He absolutely adored my daughter and I'm so glad they got almost 2 years together before he passed. I will keep his memory alive every day and make sure my daughter always knows who he is. One day I hope a cure is found. This is why I walk.
