I can't believe it has been 14 years since my niece, Megan lost her life to a severe asthma attack on December 18, 2004 at the age of 21. I am running behind in my fundraising efforts - running, something Megan couldn't do because of her asthma. There has been some changes since 2005 when Megan's Marchers was formed. Initially my family and I we were walking to raise awareness for Asthma and to help fight for those who could not breathe and to help educate those afflicted with what the triggers were for asthma. But in recent years, the American Lung Assocation has broadened their scope and now are raising awareness and money for all lung related issues. My family and I are still walking to honor Megan.
Did you know?
- Lung cancer is the in America, and most people aren’t aware.#1 cancer killer
- Anyone can get it — if you have lungs, you can get lung cancer, and it’s on the rise in women.
- More than 33 million Americans suffer from asthma, COPD (which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis), and other lung diseases.
My family and I are once again walking in American Lung Association Lung Force Walk on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Burke Lakefront Airport , OH. Would you please consider making a donation to the American Lung Association to support our LUNG FORCE. We walk for those who cannot. Let’s stand together as ONE LUNG FORCE.
Thank you for joining this important fight for children with asthma, teens who are pressured to start smoking, people with lung cancer, emphysema, COPD and everyone who wants to breathe healthy air in our communities.
My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous donation and support.
Sue Ritter, Captain of Megan's Marchers.
We will NEVER forget!
