Steve joined the Local Leadership Board of the American Lung Association in Hawaii in 2010 and became board chair in 2012. He joined the ALA Mountain Pacific Board in 2015. Over the past 10-years Steve has served and continues to serve in a variety of roles including leading and helping with special events and serving on numerous committees including Best Practices, CEO Search, Finance, Nominating, and Strategic Planning Committees.
Steve has held numerous positions in engineering and executive management throughout his career. He is currently an engineering project manager for Oceanit in Honolulu.
Born and raised on Oahu, Steve graduated from Waipahu High School, then graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawaii and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Steve lives with his wife, Toby, in Honolulu.
Steve is a Turquoise Ambassador and long-time supporter of the American Lung Association because he knows how important it is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. He had asthma as a child and now has exercised-induced asthma. Lung cancer has hit very close to home for Steve. He lost both his dad and his brother to lung cancer. He is trying to raise funds in support of needed programs and research.
