Angela is the director of marketing, communications and provider relations for Brain Health Hawai‘i. For the past 15 years, she has worked as a healthcare communications consultant.
Angela spent her life speaking in front of audiences. She was a long-time TV news personality in Hawai‘i having spent more than 15 years at KGMB-9 News and later KHNL News 8 anchoring the morning show.
She previously served as the head of communications and provider relations for Shriners Hospitals for Children and she spent time as the director of marketing for Assets School.
During the pandemic, through her Facebook Kapu Breakers group, she was able to bring attention to the issue of masking in public places and lobbied for the state's mask mandate.
Angela is a two-time survivor of long-COVID and regularly advocates for awareness and treatment. Her husband lives with severe eosinophilic asthma and her dog also has lung disease. Her dog overcame a serious lung condition and is thriving with one lung. With a number of immediate family members who have lung conditions, this issue is close to her heart.
