Thank you for visiting my page.
I’m walking in memory of my beloved father in law, Gerry and raising funds to help those currently affected, especially my cousin Melanie. Melanie got diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer at 35 (two years ago) and is thankfully living a relatively healthy life, thanks to research supported by the American Lung Association.
Until Melanie’s diagnosis, I did not realize that lung cancer was so prevalent. Did you know that it’s the type of cancer that takes the most lives? Did you know anyone with lungs can get lung cancer? Did you know that preventative screening is still only available to patients with a smoking history? It’s also historically underfunded because of the stigma surrounding lung cancer and the misconception that only smokers get it.
We need to change this. Lung cancer is taking too many lives. More needs to be done to detect it earlier and to fund further research to find new treatments and cures!
Please join me in supporting lung cancer research and early detection initiatives by walking with me on April 27 or donating to the cause… or BOTH! :)
I greatly appreciate your support.
Thank you.
