Thank you for visiting my Lung Force Fundraiser page. As many of you know, our oldest son, Robert Kalesse succumbed to stage-four metastatic lung cancer in January of 2020 after being diagnosed in January of 2019. The many months since Rob’s passing have been heart-wrenching, to say the least. The tremendous void created by Rob’s death will NEVER be filled, but we are grateful for the wonderful memories we hold vividly in our minds and hearts, and the joy we experience as friends and family relive their own memories of Rob.
Under the guidance of our amazing daughter-in-law and team leader, Cristina Kalesse, our family will once again participate in the Lung Force Walk (DE) in Rehoboth Beach, DE, on Sunday, Oct. 17th to honor Rob and the ‘warrior’ spirt he stoically upheld during treatment and well into his final days on this earth. Sadly, we also honor two additional family members we’ve lost to lung cancer this past year - my first cousin, Pat Dowdle (in June ’20) and my niece’s mother-in-law, Robin Taylor (in August ’21). Both Pat and Robin were the epitome of loving, kind, and caring individuals whose lives impacted so many.
If you are able to make a donation in honor of our loved ones or perhaps someone you know who has been impacted by lung cancer or the numerous lung diseases, we thank you! https://action.lung.org/site/TR/LUNGFORCE/ALAMA_Mid-Atlantic?px=8328706&pg=personal&fr_id=22152 Your donation and participation will help support the American Lung Association's research innovation, which leads to early detection for all and better treatments that give everyone a fighting chance.
I often say that life is hard but God is good, and that He is! When people ask me how I’m doing, I tell them that God gives me “grace for the day”…grace to keep things in perspective, grace to live in the moment, and grace to “keep moving” - three things Rob would’ve wanted for our family!
Wishing you peace, love and gratitude!
-Terrie & Bob Kalesse
