On January 2, 2015 my mother, Mary Hill, was taken away from us too soon by pulmonary fibrosis. It took a while for doctors to discover what was exactly wrong with her and once they did she had to be treated by specialists. This meant taking my mom to the Cleveland Clinic over 2 hours away from her family for over 6 months. Watching my mom go through her struggle is something that I will never forget and was eventually a battle that she lost. I believe that together we can raise funds to increase research to find a cure, or at the very least raise more awareness so people are correctly diagnosed sooner.
Pulmonary Fibrosis is a progressive disease that causes scarring in the lungs. Over time this causes difficulty in breathing and there are over 40,000 deaths each year from PF.
There is no known cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis even though 1 in 200 people over the age of 65 are affected and 50,000 new cases are diagnosed anually.
Together, with your help, we will walk to raise awareness and funds to defeat lung cancer and raise our voices for lung health.
Mary's spirit and love can BREATH ON through all of us as we make a difference for the future of Lung disease research.
That's why I have decided to participate in the LUNG FORCE Walk. When you join the American Lung Association and LUNG FORCE, you support research innovation that will lead to early detection for all and better treatments that give everyone a fighting chance.
Your donation and participation will help make a difference in the lives that desperately need it.
To support my efforts, and to help save lives today, please donate now.
We will stand together for lung health and against lung cancer!
