I'm walking for my mom, Christine Keffer. She fought lung cancer from May of 2007 until September 14, 2014, when she passed away. She was a true inspiration and the strongest person there could be. She went through numerous chemotherapy regimens, radiation, surgery, two lung transplants, and additional medications without ever complaining or letting it interfere with her love for her family. Even with trying every option out there, the cancer eventually weakened her to a point where she could no longer fight back. Because my mom never smoked, it was so hard to accept that she somehow ended up with this disease. However, I have learned through this journey that lung cancer can happen to anyone, just like any other form of cancer. I want to help people understand the truth about lung cancer so that one day, no one else will have to experience the pain of fighting cancer or watching a loved one suffer through it. I will continue my mom's fight by raising awareness to find a cure!
