Medical Honoree
Sabiha Hussain, MD, MPH
Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
Sabiha Hussain is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She is the fellowship director as well as director of the post-COVID recovery program and Adult Cystic Fibrosis program. Sabiha also is a director of bronchology and an interventional pulmonologist and sits on the Global Health Steering Committee at the Medical School.
Dr. Hussain is the current president of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Thoracic Society.
Her fellowship training was completed at Columbia Presbyterian and undergrad, medical school, and post-graduate training was done at Rutgers University. She recently completed her master’s in public health at the Bloomberg school of public health at Johns Hopkins with a focus on Global Health.
Her research interest is in global health and social determinants of health in the ICU. She is funded to develop a global pulmonary and critical care curriculum with partners in Romania, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic. She recently had her work published in a critical care journal related to the impact COVID had on the ICU in terms of social determinants of health.
She is married and has four school-aged children, between the ages of 16 and 3.
