I just completed my birthday “run” on Saturday as a part of the American Lung Association Lung Force Run. I did do things a little backwards as I ran first - very early in the morning 12 miles then biked 49 and finished up with the mile swim for a total of 62.
I have been involved for over 20 years with the American Lung Association (shortly after my mother, a non-smoker, died of complications of lung cancer at age 64, which they believe was tied to second hand smoke).
It was – and is, one of the only organizations doing research on this deadly disease, and I really want to continue doing something to support this organization.
The ALA continues to do
major research in the battle against lung cancer - research which could soon
lead to new detection and treatment options for this terrible
disease! The ALA is making great progress - but they need financial
resources to continue making these kinds of steps.
I am asking you to join me in making either a pledge "per mile" or a
set amount for my “run” - to help the ALA continue to fund this important
research.
