My father, Rogelio C. Ricanor, passed away in 2017 due to complications stemming from non-small cell lung cancer. This past November 4, he would have been 79-years-old. Like most, I didn’t put much thought into the possibility of cancer affecting our family. In fact, until his diagnosis, lung cancer was not and has not ever been on my radar.
I would like to change this for others and do my part in raising awareness and funds to defeat lung cancer.
To do so, and to celebrate my dad’s life, I would like to invite you to join our family on Sunday, January 26, as we unite with other families in raising awareness and funds to fight against lung cancer and lung health. The LUNG FORCE WALK will not only be an opportunity for families to honor their loved ones who have been affected by lung cancer, but a chance for us to help advance the research and education about the disease. The walk begins at 7:30 a.m. and will take place at NTC Park at Liberty Station. This will be a very casual and celebratory event in honor of my dad (Team Roger).
For anyone interested in joining us on Sunday morning, January 26, please register yourself using this team page link (as well as shoot me a note). There are NO registration fees to participate. Breakfast and refreshments will be provided, courtesy of the Ricanor-Kollmeyer families.
I am also working towards raising funds to help with research and education programs. I hope you can help me, please find the donation link on this page. There is no minimum to donate as anything helps. Donations on behalf of local businesses and organizations are also welcome.
I hope you will be able to join our family in celebrating my dad on Sunday morning, January 26, and to show lung cancer that we truly are a FORCE to be reckoned with.
Best Regards,
The Ricanor-Kollmeyer Family, 619.994.6543
