Tama Smith is—first and foremost—the proud auntie-mom of her teenage nephew. Tama serves as the head of Women Living a Richer Life at Brighton Jones, an award-winning independent Registered Investment Adviser and largest wealth management firm in Washington State. The firm helps individuals and families align their wealth, passions, and purpose so that they can live a richer life.
The Women Living a Richer Life initiative aims to increase the financial confidence and clarity of women in the Brighton Jones community. By 2030, women will control two-thirds of our nation’s wealth, yet too few married women are engaged in wealth conversations and decisions within their family. Brighton Jones is committed to doing its part in helping to close this readiness gap through education, conversation, and connection.
Before joining Brighton Jones, Tama founded Saventure, a strategic advisory firm in Seattle. She was also the CEO of The Tyra Banks Company, a global media company based in New York City.
Tama earned her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, studied international finance and multinational management at the London Business School, and received an undergraduate degree in business from the University of California, Berkeley.
She currently serves on the boards of Stylyze, Seattle Arts & Lectures, and the University of Washington Foster Business School’s Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship.
Tama and her nephew reside in Seattle and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and their supportive village of friends.
