To borrow words from Sunrise, I'm riding "for the air we breathe, for the water we drink, for the people we love, and for the places we call home."
This ride is in support of the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health. In 2001, my grandpa (Big Jim) died from lung cancer—I was only 9 years old, and I wish I had more time with him.
Lung health is also direcly related to air quality, an environmental justice issue, and as you probably already know, I spend many of my waking hours fighting climate change & environmental injustices in my communities.
And of course: New Hampshire is my first and longest home. It's fitting that this ride takes place on the seacoast, where I spent my college years, and is sandwiched between Massachusetts, where I previously lived, and Maine, where I currently live. It's nice to go home every once in a while.
While this ride benefits the American Lung Association, for me it's about so much more than that. You support me and the ride by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
Thank you in advance for you support!
