This coming June, along with the other members of Team Neptunes, I will be biking 180 miles to honor the lives of Sam Bitetti, Jenny Penney Oliver, Gerald K Vogel, and many other loved ones whose lives were cut short by lung cancer. My friend, Susan Bitetti, founded Team Neptunes to honor her father's life, and I am so grateful to be able to to be a part of this team.
When I started training for my first Trek Across Maine, I had never ridden a road bike, let alone biked 60 miles in a day. Susan used to applaud each of my left hand turns, and on more than one occasion, I did almost bike into oncoming traffic. This year, I am so excited to be participating in this event for the third year (FIFTH for Susan!). The funds we raise on our journey will go towards the research of the American Lung Association. The work of this organization improves the lives and outcomes of the patients and families affected by lung diseases. With your help, they even hope to eventually kick cancer's butt once and for all.
If you are able, I would be so appreciative of any donation you could make in support of Team Neptunes' journey to improve lung health. Having lost several loved ones to lung diseases, this cause is deeply important to me, and I so appreciate any support you can provide, big or small!
