I'm excited to be joining thousands of cyclists in this year's Cycle for Air, Trek Across Maine event! This is the largest fundrasing event of it's kind for the American Lung Association, and supports research, advocacy, and education around lung health. This June, I will be riding 180 miles (60 per day for 3 days) alongside some wonderful teammates.
I started riding in 2019 in honor of my Dad, who lived with stage 4 lung cancer for over a year from his date of diagnosis and inspired our family to live fully every day- even when things get tough. A big part of living that out has been staying active and getting outside, whether that involves tennis, skiing, biking or just playing catch in the backyard. Cycle for Air allows me to support this incredibly personal cause, while also supporting efforts against something that has impacted all of us this past year...COVID 19 (the American Lung Association has pledged $25 million in the fight to end COVID and to prevent future respriratory viruses).
Thank you for your support! Any contribution, however big or small, is greatly appreciated, including messages of encouragement or reminders to stay on top of my training :) A donation of any size means automatic entry into the 2nd annual virtual raffle, details to come!
P.S. The team name is a tribute to Dad's old rock band, The Neptunes! For team photos and training updates please feel free to follow along! @suzeb56 (instagram)
