As you might know, this June I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health (thanks to a gentle nudge from my pal Marisa and some serious encouragement from my dad).
Lung disease can take someone's breath away, leaving them unable to work, exercise or play. Growing faster than almost any other major illness, lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States.
I've got healthy lungs and a body that's grown pretty comfortable on the bike over the last few years, so why not put 'em both to work. Plus, I've never really spent much time in Maine! So three days on a bike sounds like the perfect way to see some sights.
Please support me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation to help me meet my fundraiser goal.
