40 Years and Counting!!
This June will by my 40th consecutive participation in the annual 180-mile Trek Across Maine bicycle ride to raise contributions to support the important work of the American Lung Association. I am looking forward to my ride over Father's Day weekend with about 1000 enthusiastic cyclists as we take in the amazing beauty of Maine. I am extremely proud to be one of only two cyclists who have ridden in each of these Treks since 1985! I have a goal of raising $15,000 for this year's Trek and I would be very honored to ride for YOUR support with your tax-deductible donation -- large or small -- to the American Lung Association. This is a very important event in my life every year, and I hope you will be a part of it!
Important Mission
I am delighted to continue to serve as a member of the ALA's Maine Leadership Board. The work of the ALA for over the past 100 years has focused on the prevention and treatment of lung disease. The American Lung Association has been at the forefront of reducing smoking as our nation's greatest preventable health threat, but they are also very active in clean air issues, and in cutting-edge research in the areas of lung cancer and other lung diseases. Your support of the Trek -- by making a donation toward my ride -- will aid this organization's education, research, and policy efforts at the local, state, and national levels.
