I am riding in my first Trek Across Maine in 2023. Although this will be my first time riding, my mom and best friend have ridden in past years. I'm excited that this year I am able to participate. I'm riding alongside Carylanne Wolfington, who is a longtime friend of mine.

The Trek supports the American Lung Association, which is an organization doing amazing work to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health. With the pandemic in the not-so-distant past (and present, let's be honest), the ALA's efforts to combat the effects of Covid-19 on the respiratory system has been crucial in the fight against the virus. In addition, the ALA's work with asthma is particularly important to me as an educator in Springfield, Mass, which has historically been considered the children's asthma capital of the country.
