My name is Jordan Towne, and I am a native of Saco, Maine. Since early childhood, I have had a love and fascination for anything with wheels, from Nascar, to monster trucks, to tractors and trains, to trucks and bicycles. As I have grown older, biking has not only been a hobby, but become a passion! It provides great exercise, a connection to others in the community, a mode of transportation, as well as something to enjoy. As many may already know, a large number of my own family members struggle with asthma and other lung diseases.
In 2019, I will be participating in my first Trek Across Maine cycling event. The Trek Across Maine is an annual bicycling event to support the American Lung Association. The American Lung Association provides support for thousands of people who live with asthma, lung cancer, COPD, as well as threats from air pollution and tobacco products. In addition to supporting people already living with lung diseases personally, or within their family, the American Lung Association is dedicated to helping prevent lung diseases and save lives through advocacy, research, and education.
For the Trek Across Maine in June 2019, I will be participating in the 2 day ride option on Saturday June 15th and Sunday June 16th. Overall, I will be riding 102 miles starting from Bates College and going to Colby College, then from Colby College to Brunswick Landing. Will you help me by donating to support the ALA? All donations and proceeds are given directly to the American Lung Association to help with support and education for people just like us all throughout the U.S.
If you’re able, I would be grateful if you could make a donation of any amount to help me support the American Lung Association!
Thank you in advance for your contribution. Your donation will go directly to the ALA on my behalf.
