What would you do to make me ride a bike across Maine? I know you would love to see how I look at the end of those three days and 180 miles. And while I know you would love to see me suffer it is all for a worthy charity and a cause very close to me personally.
Lung disease has had an impact on many of our lives. Many are like us having lost someone we love to this horrible disease.
We lost my Dad to this disease last year. He was one of the many victims of asbestos. As a union electrician for many years, he was exposed during upgrades/renovations to hospitals, schools and hotels. There are so many other sources and contributors to Lung disease, there is still much to be done and this is why I am asking for your support.
Progress has been made and the American Lung Association has had a major impact on improving quality of life to sufferers and their family but there is still lots to do. Fundraising for ALA raises monies for valuable life saving treatment, research and advocacy.
Last year I did my first Trek across Maine to fund raise for ALA and yes, I have pictures to prove it! I was motivated by my Dad's words "it will be good for you" and with very limited time to train due to being by Dad's side at the hospital, I cycled 180 miles across Maine over 3 days.
I hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation to this worthy cause! No amount to small (or large)! It all adds up to make an impact.
If you have supported me in the past, thank you and I hope you will continue your generosity. For those that have shown interest in my journey thank you very much reading this and considering supporting me.
Best
Wayne
