I am participating in the Trek Across Maine, a 3-day, 180-mile cycling event from the mountains of Sunday River to the sea in Belfast. As the largest fundraising event of its kind in the nation for the American Lung Association, the Trek has raised more than $24 million in the past 30+ years. I will be joining nearly 2,000 cyclists and 750 volunteers on this one of a kind journey this Father’s Day Weekend.
My participation in this memorable experience assists the American Lung Association’s efforts to help people suffering from lung disease in our communities.
- ALA advocates for pollution free, safe and clean air in schools, the workplace and public places.
- ALA lobbies for FDA oversight over tobacco products and cessation treatment under health insurance plans.
- ALA researches better methods of detection, treatment and cures for ALL lung diseases.
For 100 years, The American Lung Association has supported research to achieve this goal and they continue to fund, develop, promote and advocate for programs that will result in life-changing advances for people impacted by lung disease.
There are many charitable causes asking for our help today. It is always a challenge to raise funds. Any gift amount makes a difference right away toward the ALA’s goal to live longer and healthier lives by breathing easier.
Donations may be made via check (donor sheets next to this letter) to the American Lung Association. For any donation above $15.00, you will receive a receipt from ALA. I have also included steps on how to make an online donation with a credit card.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my lungs! I truly appreciate your consideration.
