I have once again decided to join a hardy group of bicyclists from my church, along with many others, in a three-day 180-mile Trek Across Maine in mid-June to raise money for the fight against lung cancer, COPD, asthma and other serious lung diseases. Having successfully finished last year’s Trek from the mountains of Sunday River to the sea at Belfast, I’m looking forward to taking on the new Trek route this year, a grand circle through coastal and central Maine, beginning and ending in Brunswick. I really appreciated the generous support I received last year, and I hope you join or renew my group of supporters this year in the form of a donation to the American Lung Association, which is organizing the Trek. This year’s Trek will take place June 14-16, 2019.
In undertaking this challenge, I am sobered by the fact that lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of both men and women today. Another alarming fact is that lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States. As I pump the pedals toward the finish line, I'll be grateful for every bit of lung capacity I have. And by supporting the American Lung Association's work, I'll be helping to make the same gift available to people suffering from lung diseases.
Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a donation. All you have to do is click the DONATE NOW button on this page and fill in the necessary information. I need to receive your contribution by June 13, the day before the Trek begins.
Many thanks for your thoughts and support of this worthy adventure!!
