For the 3rd year I have committed to join many other cyclists and the American Lung Association on the Trek Across Maine. It was a new experance for me 2 year,s ago to commit to 180 mile, while raising money to support the fight against lung cancer, COPD, Asthma and other serious lung diseases and never being a road biker before. At 58 years old I took it on. I am preparing to do it again.
As many of you know, my husband John is on the heart transplant listing waiting for a heart. People who are in heart failure also have breathing and other lung issues. The work the American Lung Association, is benifitcial to heart paitents also.
John has been a great supporter of me doing the Trek Across Maine. The last 2 years he has work at the LL Bean rest stop, while i peddle away. he hopes to join me on the Trek once he recieves a new heart.
I'm asking for your help with this important fundraiser. Last year I raised $1400, I hope to raise more this year with the help everyones support.
Did you know that lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of both men and women today? Another alarming fact is that lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
