I have again committed to joining many other cyclists on a virtual journey across Maine while raising money to support the American Lung Association. The ALA leads the fight against lung cancer, COPD, asthma, and other lung-related diseases, while also fighting for cleaner air. This is personal for me, as my grandfather died of emphysema, and one of my friends died too young of lung cancer. I ride in their memory.
2021 will be my fifth Trek, but alas, it is to be a "virtual" ride again this year. I am having a hard time trying to get up any kind of enthusiasm for a pretend ride. Yes, I will train, yes I will ride, but the Trek is not the same unless you are doing it with 2,000 of your closest friends. Ok, that last part about the number of friends is made up.
I invite you to cheer me on this year, and especially, I ask you to help support the mission of the American Lung Association by sponsoring me in my fifth Trek Across Maine!
Thank you for your support!!
