I have committed to join many other athenistas, cyclists and the American Lung Association in a journey across Maine while raising money to support the fight against lung cancer, COPD, Asthma and other serious lung diseases. Among my goals is to increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
This will be my third year of completing the Trek Across Maine. This event is near and dear to me for a number of reasons. As someone that is directly impacted by asthma, I for the most part live a life that is bless and free of breathing issues. I think of my uncle, John Grenon, who was a Vietnam Veteran and due to his exposure to agent orange suffered from lung cancer as a direct result and passed away in December of 2015. My uncle John was that we was one of my biggest supporters my first year of riding the trek while his battle with cancer was ongoing and I know he will be there in spirit for each of the 180 miles. On my ride, I carry with me a shot of Johnny Walker, it was the party favor from his 70th birthday that occurred days before his passing.
Riding in memory of Joseph Gargano and Gerald Chisholm. I represent Joey with a ribbon of a palm tree. For Gerry, I will have a Harley-Davidson pin to represent his love for motorcycling. I will be honoring Tom Costello with his love for golf and a golf pin.
Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation. Ask your HR Department about matching gifts and see your donation double in support of my efforts and the mission of the American Lung Association.
Thank you in advance for your support!!
