In June of 2019, I will be joining good friends and family members for my fifth Trek Across Maine, a three day, 180 mile bike ride across the great state of Maine. The Trek is a major fund raising event for the American Lung Association to support the fight against lung cancer, COPD, Asthma and other serious lung diseases. I ride in memory of my sister-in-law Randi, who lost a very courageous battle to lung cancer 12 years ago, and for Don and Darlene Rowe, my parents. Both parents were life long smokers, exposing my five siblings and I to second hand smoke as we grew up. Supporting the good work of the ALA comes naturally for me and my teammates.
Team Slow Riders Annual Raffle:
Once again this year, Team Slow Riders is pleased to offer our supporters the opportunity to win a one week stay at either a Sugarloaf condominium or at a pristine lakeside camp on Green Lake in Ellsworth. For each $25 donation to my fundraising, or to any of my teammates, you will receive one raffle ticket, or for a donation of $100, five tickets will be issued. Last year's winners reported a wonderful week of swimming, kayaking, fishing, quiet nights listening to the loons by the light of the fire, and many day trips to nearby Acadia National Park and other wonderful Maine attractions. All donations are to benefit the American Lung Association and are tax deductible. Sugarloaf and Green Lake availability is limited and to be coordinated with the generous donor.
My personal thanks to all past and future donors. With your continued support, Team Slow Riders is proud to pedal the long miles in support of American Lung Association’s important work.
