For my fourteenth year, I am participating in the Trek Across Maine, Cycle for Air, a 3-day, 180-mile cycling event through the State of Maine. It's the largest fundraising event of its kind in the nation for the American Lung Association. Unfortunately, due to an injury, I will not be cycling this year. Instead I will be an ambassador, volunteer and the best team captain ever! All of my other energy will support nearly 2,000 cyclists and 750 volunteers on this one of a kind journey this Father’s Day Weekend. I am the captain of an extrordinary team of friends, family and D.O's from multiple backgrounds and different parts of the country ranging in age from 13-64. We have all come together because we believe in the platform, the physical, mental and emotional challenge and love taking in the scenery of Maine's country roads in a way that most never get to experience. As a team, we raised over $15000.00 last year and I have upped our goal to $18000.00 for this year.
ALA advocates for pollution free, safe and clean air in schools, the workplace and public places.
ALA lobbies for FDA oversight over tobacco products and cessation treatment under health insurance plans.
ALA researches better methods of detection, treatment and cures for ALL lung diseases.
For 100 years, The American Lung Association has supported research to achieve this goal and they continue to fund, develop, promote and advocate for programs that will result in life-changing advances for people impacted by lung disease.
There are many charitable causes asking for our help today. It is always a challenge to raise funds. This is a cause that affects me personally with my lung health. I am asking for your help in reaching my $2000.00 goal. Any gift amount makes an immediate effect toward the ALA’s goal to living longer and healthier lives by breathing easier.
To my continual donors, THANK YOU from the bottom of my lungs! I also understand that for some of you, it has been a while since I reached out to you for your support and I truly appreciate your consideration.
