June 17th, Brunswick, ME, 180 miles, 18 gears, new teammates (YEAH!), rain, laughter, sunshine, music, tired legs, old friends and faces, new ones to be made, flat tires, phenominal support, forever Watermelon Hill, one goal......Fuck Cancer. In the actions of the woman I miss more than life itself -- it's time to reach back, clip in, and ride year 10 for team "Cooney's Climbers".
So here we go.....
She always told us to "make memories" and that is exactly what we did. She always told us to "live, love, laugh" and that is exactly what we did. She also told us to "stay out of trouble" --- and we didn't. But we made more memories, lived a bit more and laughed a lot harder because of it. As the daughter of a woman who put up a short, yet fierce, battle against lung cancer, my teammates and I will be riding another 180 miles across Maine in an effort to raise money for the American Lung Association. I am riding in memory of my mom, Alice Hunt, and am reaching out for your support. Every little bit helps and I thank you (more than you could realize) in advance for your support!!!
Thank you -- wish us all luck, strong legs and good weather!
